Campus news at HSE University

For companies, development inevitably comes with an increase in the volume and variety of risks faced. Risk management helps to foresee these risks, adapt to them, and achieve strategic goals. Dzhangir Dzhangirov, Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer at SBER, delivered a lecture to HSE ICEF students on how risk management works in the banking system and what new challenges companies face in the fintech era.

Founded in 2011, the Academic Writing Centre strives to help HSE University faculty improve their academic and research-writing skills in English. HSE University bulletin Okna spoke to several teachers and researchers who have used the AWC’s services over the decade.

For the last three weeks, HSE University has been operating a Situation Centre to support students currently experiencing difficulties. The HSE News Service explains why the Centre was created and what it has achieved so far.

Galina E. Volodina has been the Campus Director in Perm since 1997. The HSE University Situation Centre (established by the University administration at the initiative of the Student Council) helps HSE students and staff who need support in light of the current international situation. The Centre’s volunteers can provide information about psychological and financial assistance, study process issues, and other questions.

The grand opening of a new coworking area at the HSE Graduate School of Business took place in February. The 395 sq m area was renovated and equipped in line with the most recent trends in creative study areas in partnership with Accenture, one of the business school’s strategic partners.

Artists and designers from anywhere in the world will be able to display their work on the ice of Chistye Prudy in the centre of Moscow. Those interested should take part in the ArtBotMoscow competition organised by the HSE University Business Incubator. The winning sketch will be printed on the ice by a robot.

On February 1, a group of American students started their short-term on-campus study programme at HSE University. During three months, the students will take courses in post-Soviet Russian history, contemporary Russian domestic and foreign policy, social anthropology, and a practical course of Russian as a Foreign Language.
