Education news at HSE University

In early June Italian professors Cristian Vaccari and Lucio Picci gave a series of open lectures at the Higher School of Economics. Their visit is another step towards the implementation of the agreement on cooperation between the HSE and the University of Bologna signed in 2009.

This year the recently created HSE School of Asian Studies will begin accepting the first entrants to its undergraduate programme. Aleksey Maslov, Head of the School, told us how to train Orientalists the right way and what examinations these students will have to pass.

From August 8th –20th the Fourth International Summer School will take place in Lapland. The organizer of the School, Sergey Medvedev, Deputy Dean of the HSE Faculty of Applied Political Science, told us about the programme and aims of the School this year.

The HSE International College of Economics and Finance is preparing for its fourth enrolment of students in the master’s programme in Financial Economics. Maxim Nikitin, Academic Supervisor of the Programme and Professor in Ordinary at the HSE, told us about the course.

On March 23 - April 3 the Higher School of Economics hosted a joint Spring School Public Policy and Transformation. Roman Kotov, Head of the HSE Center for International Education speaks about the project.

On March 10th the HSE ’Baltic Practice’ project, which will take place this year in Oslo from August 1st –8th, was unveiled at the HSE.
