of Russians believe that the ideal family is like a ‘psychological comfort zone’ that joins an attractive, smart and confident woman who does not have bad habits with a smart man who is able to provide for the family.

Somewhat less popular (chosen by 31%) is a model whereby a practical breadwinner joins a compliant, kind homemaker. The success of such a family is largely determined by its level of material wellbeing, which directly affects relations among family members.

Much less popular are models wherein the ideal family is a ‘love nest’ and ‘marriage for the sake of children.’
