Society news at HSE University

On October 6, for the first time, Moscow hosted the Kyokushin Karate World Cup. The world tournament brought together athletes from more than 30 countries. HSE University participated in the event as one of the tournament’s newest official partners.

On October 2 and 3, HSE University simultaneously celebrated two anniversaries of Russian-Dutch academic cooperation: the 25th anniversary of joint educational programmes between HSE University and Erasmus University Rotterdam, and the 10th anniversary of the Dutch educational center, Nuffic Neso Russia, with which HSE has a long-standing partnership.

The academic director of the HSE — Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development, Ioannis Lianos, has been appointed head of Greece’s independent Competition Commission.

This year, about 30 Moscow publishers participated in HSE’s fifth annual Schoolyard Book Festival, which was held in the courtyard of 20 Myasnitskaya Street. How do you sell more than a thousand books in a day while still maintaining the festival’s traditional cozy atmosphere?

Faculty of Management graduate Roman Malov is the director and owner of the V.I. Chapaev Chuvash horse ranch and the Yadrinmoloko factory whose products we buy every day in Moscow stores.
