Reformatting Research Activity: First Large-Scale Projects Launched at HSE University
Less than a year ago, the Faculty of Humanities at HSE University launched four large-scale projects, bringing together representatives of different disciplines from different departments and campuses of the University. Their goals, content, staffing and expected results were presented at a meeting of the Rector’s Council. Other departments have been tasked with developing their own large-scale projects, which HSE University will be able to include in its application for the ‘Priority 2030’ programme.
‘Our Graduates Will Be Prepared for Several Promising Career Paths’
In 2021, the Master of Business Analytics Programme of the Faculty of Economic Sciences will hold its first intake. The programme will be fully implemented online: students will study in English on the Coursera platform. Irina Ivashkovskaya, Tenured Professor at HSE University, Head of the School of Finance and Academic Supervisor of the new Master’s Programme, told the News Service about other features of the Programme, what competencies students will gain, what ‘stakeholder capitalism’ means, and why it is important for a future financier.
RAS Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics Launches Joint Department with HSE Faculty of Chemistry
The new Department will prepare students for careers in cutting edge research and engineering, as well as entrepreneurial and commercial development. They will be able to promote their own innovative projects and projects developed by their colleagues. The Department is headed by Professor Sergey Aldoshin, full member of Russian Academy of Sciences.
HSE University Upgrades its Software Engineering Programme in Partnership with ISP RAS and 1C
HSE University will enhance its programmes in Software Engineering implemented by the Faculty of Computer Science together with the RAS Institute for System Programming (ISP RAS) and the company, 1C. The focus will be on the study of cutting-edge technology of software development as well as on expanding the number of various specializations.
New Online Lab of HSE Art and Design School Explores Conceptions of Sound
Unthinking/Unlearning is a joint project by the Klammklang label with Master’s programmes in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and Sound Art and Sound Studies at the Art and Design School of HSE University. The project, which began on May 15 and will conclude on June 1, is dedicated to the Year of Germany in Russia 2020/21. Participants of the online lab will study audial, visual, and musical practices.
Online Master of Finance Receives CFA Institute Affiliation Program Status
The Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA Institute) has recognised the HSE online Master of Finance as part of its University Affiliation Program. The status was assigned this year based on the long-standing cooperation between the CFA Institute and the HSE Banking Institute and the confidence international experts have in the quality of education at HSE.
HSE University Launches New Master’s Programmes on Coursera
HSE Master’s programmes in four new specializations are now available on Coursera in the fields of business analysis, finance, and computer science. Each specialization consists of a series of courses and a practice-oriented final project, says the HSE eLearning Office.
HSE and DOM.RF Sign a Student Housing Agreement
HSE University is renting a 27-storey block of a new apartment complex, Level Amurskaya, located in the Golyanovo District of Moscow. Only university students will be accommodated in the building, and they will have their choice of renting a single studio or a shared apartment. This agreement is another step towards HSE's transition to a service model for accommodating nonresident and foreign students as part of the University Development Program until 2030.
‘I Feel at Ease in Russian Class’
Since September of this academic year, the HSE International Prep Year (IPY) programme has offered a supplemental Russian language course for international students studying at HSE. It is designed for students who have successfully graduated from the preparatory programme and are now studying in undergraduate or graduate programmes at HSE on Russian government scholarships. HSE to Support the 2022 International Mind Games
An intellectual competition for secondary school students from all over the world who are lovers of science and technology will be held in Yakutia with the participation of HSE University. High school students from all over the world will gather for several days to participate in projects in the natural sciences and humanities led by scientists and scholars from around the world.
