On April 8th  the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge held an Open Day for the Master’s programme 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation'. The prospective students met the programme’s administrators, their future teachers, and possible employers: the presentation was attended by prominent members of the business community and government agencies.

The play La Folie Positive, performed by the HSE Le Defi student theatre, took top honors at the Francophone festival Rideau Rouge, which took place in Naples, Italy.

Faculty and students of the HSE Faculty of Business Informatics in Perm took part in the IV International Scientific and Technical Conference ‘Open Semantic Technology for Intelligent Systems’ (OSTIS-2014).

The Higher School of Economics joined the project on October 23, 2013 as one of the first Russian universities to partner up with Coursera. At the moment, the HSE offers twelve courses on its page with Coursera.

HSE International Week in Saint Petersburg was a great success. This first-time event was taking place on February 10-14, 2014. The international students were meeting with the University’s best lecturers and researchers and visiting the city’s attractions.

A videoconference Let’s Talk Olympics  was held at the HSE Perm. It was organized for students of the HSE and California University of Pennsylvania.

Russian students may be materially and physically dependent on their parents, but unlike their american peers, it doesn’t stop them feeling they are socially independent beings. HSE student  Ekaterina Novikova  presented her research, 'Social Independence as a Consequence of Economic Independence; a Comparison between Russian and American Students'.
