You are going to get a full immersion experience into HSE University. Summer University was first held in 2014. Now it is one of the leading programmes of online international mobility not only in terms of scope but also in terms of teaching quality and the variety of courses. Participating in HSE Summer University will be beneficial for your future careers because skills of online learning and online interaction with people from different countries and cultural backgrounds will remain important even after the pandemic. The ability to combine online and offline learning will be an important asset for all of us.

We hope that you will make new friends and gain new experience and academic knowledge. The academic part of the programme will be exciting and intensive. However, this is a summer programme, so HSE University students will be your ‘buddies’ and help you to know more about Russia, Moscow, and HSE University.
Jia Tong, University of Tromso,
will be taking a Russian language course
As a former HSE Summer University student, I am looking forward to the upcoming fulfilling Russian language learning with other schoolmates from all over the world along the exciting journey together.
Learning the Russian language does not only shape my mindset differently but also facilitates my research into different languages.
Through the window of the Russian language, I get to know the culture, the history, art, and most importantly, people. Meanwhile, I also hope to consolidate my Russian language knowledge with the interactive online class and further my Russian level this summer school 2021. I believe this summer with HSE will continue to be an amazing and fulfilling experience!”
Maurice Bessling, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz,
will be taking Behavioral Economics course
I study Accounting and Finance in the Master of Science at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. I have chosen the course in Behavioural Economics at the HSE University because I would like to broaden my knowledge in this field, but also to get to know the Russian educational system and universities.
HSE University enjoys an excellent reputation in Germany and that is exactly why I chose the HSE over other universities. In addition, Russia is an enormously great country that I would like to discover. I am really looking forward to the course, the excellent lecturers and my new experiences.
Matthew Ma, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology,
has chosen US-Russia Relations between the Cold Wars and Politics and Economics of Energy courses
I am studying Global Business and Information Systems in Hong Kong. I am originally from Indonesia but I have always wanted to experience a global culture and learn from the very best. Which is why I decided to take HKUST’s sponsored HSE Summer University this summer.
I am confident that this virtual experience will enrich me as a global student and equip me with the necessary skill and culture awareness to succeed in our ever-global environment. The courses I’ve chosen spark my interest in energy and historical politics. Lastly, I am keen to meet and interact with HSE students through their scheduled cultural exchange sessions. Hope to see you all in Moscow soon! Do svidaniya!
